FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS K-POP DANCE DALLAS?

K-Pop Dance Dallas is a dance program created by husband and wife duo, David Yi and Chantha Mao. Classes revolve around Korean Pop music (known as K-Pop) and attract fans of both the genre and the featured artist of the class song. Routines are broken up into 3 Saturday classes, including a video shoot with a professional videographer and photographer. We want to share and spread our love for K-Pop and dance with Dallas!

WHO ARE WE?

David and Chantha are a husband and wife dancing duo with over 15 years of dance and teaching experience. Both had a love for dance and Korean pop music at an early age. They met in college on their hip hop dance competition squad, called Team Millennia. Both invested many days and nights into dancing, and fell in love with each other on the dance floor. Fast forward 10 years to 2014: They got married and moved to Dallas! After a few years of not dancing, they witnessed just how many KPop fans there were in the DFW area at a Got7 concert! Chantha and David decided to host their first K-Pop Dance Dallas class in November of 2016, and the rest is history!

Chantha's credits include:
  • Team Millenia
  • MTV's ABDC, Season 3 (Team Millennia)
  • Sodium Dance Company
  • Nike
  • Margaret Cho
David's credits include:
  • Team Millennia
  • Paula Abdul's Live to Dance (Inside the Box)
  • Sodium Dance Company

HOW DIFFICULT ARE CLASSES? WHAT DANCE LEVEL DO I NEED TO BE?

We offer 2 difficulties: beginner and intermediate/advanced. Beginner classes will have moves that are mostly whole and half counts while intermediate/advanced classes will have choreography that focus on all aspects of the music
(lyrics, beat, instruments, etc).

IF I BOUGHT MY ADMISSION ONLINE BUT CAN'T ATTEND CLASS ANYMORE,
WILL I GET A REFUND?

Unfortunately, refunds and are not given to pre-registered students in the event of absence from a purchased class.
We are unable to accommodate such situations efficiently and hope you understand.
We encourage students to purchase $25 at the door if they are unsure about their schedule.

IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT?

K-Pop Dance Dallas is open to all ages! We sometimes host age restricted classes like K-Pop Kids for dancers between the ages of 5 to 12, as well as Heels classes for dancers over the age of 18.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CLASS?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in. Your shoes should have some grip and be lightweight. Think of it as an aerobics class!

I'M A PARENT. CAN I STAY IN THE ROOM AND WATCH?

We do not allow any spectators in the class due to noise. We ask that all parents and supporters wait in the lobby or halls outside the classroom so that our students can focus on learning with few distractions.

CAN I DROP IN AND PAY AT THE DOOR?

Yes, our drop in rate is $25 per class. We accept cash, Venmo, and Debit/Credit Cards.
